 - DESCRIPTION - The very scarce first edition of this work. 
 A lovely topographical study into Forfar, a royal burgh in Angus, Scotland. The area dates back to a temporary Roman occupation, and was occupied by the English forces during the Scottish War of Independence before being presented to Robert the Bruce.
 Typically Forfar is both a market town and a major manufacturing centre for linen and jute.
 Illustrated with a frontispiece, and in-text illustrations throughout.

 - CONDITION - In the original publishers cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Spine is a little discoloured. Hinges are starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few odd spots and handling marks. - Overall Condition: Very Good - GLOSSARY OF TERMS - Overall Condition - (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) - Fine- Very well preserved copy showing very little wear - Very Good Indeed- Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy - Very Good- Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones - often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy - Good- Meaning not very good.
